OMG so I just discovered the anime, Lovely Complex, and that it is all spoken in Kansai-ben! Amaaazing. I love that dialect so much. It'll make understanding a little tougher but it's so fun to listen to XD I don't usually like shoujo anime but this one looks promising.

But I can't understand Japanese at all-- is there a subbed version, to your knowledge?

Yes there is! You can find them on either Veoh-TV or on megavideo. I'm quite hooked on it at the moment :D

I'm just so confused whenever I hear it. I barely understand anything. *hides*

It /is/ a rather confusing dialect. I just love it when they add 'hen' to sentence endings XD

*laughs* Oh, that too is confusing for me. I shouldn't have been taught How To Speak A Perfect Japanese at university. I barely know about dialects and whatnot.

Heehee, my japanese teacher once said it was ironic how foreigners learn 'correct Japanese' but japanese people rarely speak 'correct Japanese' :P I guess it's like this with many languages.
